Since staying at home, it has been difficult to find my "worth", my value. It highlights a lot of the sin that is in my life that I need to work through. James is a reminder to me of what I should be doing. Chan is a great speaker and this video study did not disappoint. Works without faith is nothing just like faith without works. But that is exactly what the second verse of the entire book says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." James 1:2-3.
That is hard to think about and actually follow through, with an obedient and joyful heart. He reminds us that the Bible tells us we should welcome hard times.
That's what I loved most about it was that he was breaking down the actual verses. He walks through each verse of James in these 12 videos. There are also leader guides for purchase and free group handouts available. This study is set up in 12 sessions with the videos only lasting seven to twelve minutes each.
